The World

What is Eriuntera?

Eriuntera is the name for all the lands of Grindgy's world. From Kiras Deothinux in the north to the tip of Glathinere in the south, it stretches about 1,200 miles. G'Innethin, Grindgy's homeland, lies on an immense northern plateau. The Nevinare, led by Queen Elluira, live in the cliffs along its southern edge.

South of the plateau is a great forest, home to the Seiquinere, also called the Weald or Wood Elves. The Eduiran mountain range runs north to south and is home to the Dwerghas, or Dwarves; some also live among the western hills of Asaldigere. Beside the mountains lies the Great Forest of Delmerith, home to the Levinaire, or Noble Elves.

The Aumani, or Humans, live across the lands, from frigid northern steppes to tropical islands in the southwest. Hathi-Duiran and Cyn-Yzzar are among their great cities. To the northwest, the Hills of Caladuiran are home to Aumagoths, enemies of Eriuntera's free peoples. Their origins trace to Daiverna's cross-breeding of vaichire and captured humans.

A vast wasteland borders Ogmiruden, the immense sea with a circular island at its center. That island holds a key place in the story.

The Story Behind the Map

A world changed by magic.

Nearly two thousand years after Grindgy's ancestor G'Anthor destroyed the world, magic is rare among Eriuntera's commoners and often dismissed as myth or superstition. Some still practice the arcane arts through innate skill or cultural heritage.

The Nevinare are particularly strong magic-users. After G'Anthor's accident, the Noble Elves banned them. The map also bears the mark of Archynora: Ogmiruden is a sea formed when that cataclysm reshaped the land.
